Are you accepting new patients?

New patients are always welcome.

What ages do you accept?

In general, the practice of internal medicine includes all patients 16 years and older.

Do you accept my insurance plan?
We accept most insurance plans. In this currently ever-changing environment, a quick call to the office can provide a complete list.

Do you accept Medicare and Medicaid?

We do accept Medicare, however, Medicaid is only accepted as a secondary insurance plan.

Do you provide hospital care?

We provide both office and hospital care for our own patients. In addition, we provide hospital care for many office based primary care physicians in the area.

What hospitals are the physicians affiliated with?

Currently the physicians have privileges at Akron General Medical Center, Summa Health Systems, Edwin Shaw Hospital, and Select Speciality Hospital. The doctors will be expanding to include Barberton Community Hospital, and Regency Hospital in the near future.

Will the doctors refer to specialists?
The physicians may chose to refer patients to various subspecialists as the patient’s medical requires. In addition, actual follow-up with the subspecialist is the ultimate responsibility of the patient.

Do the doctor’s perform female medical exams?

Yes.

Do I have to have a complete history and physical on my first visit?
No, but all patients are expected to complete one within their first two visits.

What is an Internist?
Internal medicine focuses on providing complete medical care to adults. Certification requires the completion of an authorized residency program that provides specialized training in all medical subspecialties. Internists are the most well-trained physicians in general medical care. Most subspecialties require training in internal medicine prior to subspecialty certification.

How will I be billed?

Patients are sent bills after receipt of insurance payment or refusal. After which, payment is expected in full within 90 days. Once 90 days has elapsed, remaining balances may be subject to a service fee and may be sent to a collection agency. Payment plans can also be arranged through our billing manager.
